Schedule of Rates & Charges

Local moves are made on an hourly basis.  Charges begin on arrival at the origin and continue until the move is completed at the destination. Travel time is added to compensate for travel to and from the job and for wear & tear of the vehicle. Call for our hourly rates.

Long Distance Moving {Out of State} are made with an in house binding estimate.  Call or email us for our professional to visit you for a FREE estimate.

Travel Time is based upon the number of miles between the origin and destination of your move as indicated in our mileage guide approved by the MA DPU. The following time will be added to the time we are physically on the job.

• 0-5 Miles add ½ hour for travel time
• 6-15 Miles add 1 hour for travel time
• 16-30 Miles add 1 ½ hours
• 31-50 Miles add 2 hours
• over 50 Miles will be quoted

Packing Charges are priced per container. The rate includes labor and the packing materials needed. You may also purchase the cartons and materials to do your own packing. Unpacking is defined as emptying cartons not placing goods in cupboard. Unpacking charge equals packing price minus supply price per container.

Miscellaneous Charges such as hoisting or piano or organ surcharges vary with circumstances. Prices will be quoted.

Storage is available in our heated palletized warehouse. The furniture is stored in a large wooden container 7 1/2 x 7 ½ x 5 ft. Each container holds approximately 1 ½ rooms of furniture.

Carrier's Liability is limited 60 cents per pound per article throughout the moving industry. Upon request we shall extend our Bill of Lading Liability to an amount equal to the Full Value of the Entire Shipment. The cost of this extended liability is $7.00 per $1000.00 of the declared value of the shipment. We do not sell insurance and our liability in either of the above options is limited to conditions spelled out on the Bill of Lading approved by the MA DPU. We suggest that you check with your personal insurance agent to see what protection they offer.

Carrier's Liability: On moving day you will be asked to select either option A or B under "Declaration of Value" as it appears below and on the Bill of Lading.

Declaration of Value
(Shipper must select one of the options below prior to the start of any packing or moving services)

A. Declared value of $.60 per pound per article. There is no charge for this option.
C. A full replacement valuation of $_____ based on a minimum declared value of $4.00 per pound.  The carrier will not apply depreciation under this option. The charge for this option will be $10.00 per $1,000.00 of  valuation.

Option A: Is the standard liability which is provided at no cost, but is very limited in its coverage.
Option C: Is additional protection. The cost is $10.00 per thousand of the Value you assign to your goods. In most cases, a "Ball Park" figure is $5,000 per room is adequate.

Final Charges are determined by the collective total of any and all charges for any and all services rendered. This could include, but is not limited to the following: actual time involved, travel time, packing services, unpacking services, packing materials, safe surcharge, piano or organ surcharge, hoisting, increased declared value for move, storage fees and increased declared value for storage. All charges are due in full upon completion of the move, unless prior arrangements have been made for billing.
